Students in the younger ages can become overwhelming to deal with but there are certain things which teachers can try out to ease out the situation. Some of those are:
Establishing Eye Contact
Keeping steady eye contact while talking is essential for all age groups and this becomes even more important for kids. It shows your active participation in the conversation.
Explaining the Mistakes and Corrections
Most often students are punished or corrected for their mistakes. If instead they can be explained the consequences of their actions and the importance of the corrections then it would lead to a better understanding of the situation.
Using Encouraging Words
Positive and encouraging words help students in building their self-confidence. Using more of those has a better long term impact.
An understanding student is built with the power of her/his communication. There are many more things which can be done to assure just that.
